EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, August 14, 2000
CMS Peripherals, will expand their complete line of 2.5-inch notebook storage products to include 20GB and 30GB solutions. The new higher capacity hard drives will be integrated into the entire 2.5-inch line of CMS products including the Automatic Backup Solutions (ABS -- both PCMCIA and USB versions), Easy-Plug Easy-Go (EPEG) notebook hard drives and EasyBundle (notebook hard drive and data transfer kit).
Physically much smaller than previous generation drives, the new two-platter 20GB drives have a thickness of only 9.5mm and the three-platter 30GB drives measure only 12.5mm. These slimmer dimensions enable CMS to nearly double the capacities of their solutions, without altering pre-existing hardware configurations.
