In Conjunction With Advanced Validation Labs, SiS Launches System Validation Program for DDR400 Memory Modules

Advanced Validation Labs(R) (AVL), a leading validation and testing service company and Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation(R) (SiS), a leading core logic chipset supplier, today announced its system level validation program using the SiS648FX chipset and DDR400 memory modules.

The SiS648FX is the only core logic chipset available in the market to support both the Intel Pentium(R) 4 microprocessor operating at 800MHz FSB speed and single-channel DDR400 memory. This combination carries excellent performance for Pentium(R) 4 platforms and fulfills the strong market demand for super-speed data transfer.

With the launch of the SiS648FX for the Intel Pentium(R) 4, memory manufacturers and DRAM suppliers are beginning to ship DDR400 (PC3200) modules and devices to be tested by AVL for compatibility with SiS chipsets.

The AVL/SiS validation program involves the testing of memory modules using the SiS648FX chipset and AVL's leading-edge equipment and software. The validation process includes the application of different voltage and thermal ranges to stress memory modules under test.

AVL customers realize many benefits associated with the validation program. DRAM and platform suppliers can be confident that new products are interoperable and compatible. Additionally, companies can better ensure market readiness as new technology is launched allowing them to maintain the highest user satisfaction.

"SiS is always proud of its quality products," said Michael Chen, SiS President and CEO. "In close cooperation with AVL, SiS is able to assure all the products are in line with world-class standards. AVL provides a comprehensive suite of test services with high quality and stringent standards in the field of testing and validation of memory."

"AVL is confident that its collaboration with SiS will enable users looking for validated modules to feel confident that the memory they purchase is reliable and compatible with SiS solutions. Our mutual customers will be able to verify that their memory modules have been thoroughly tested with AVL's comprehensive validation procedure," stated Larry Ho, director, technical labs, Advanced Validation Labs.
