IBM Tivoli storage manager and NetApp NearStore R100 provide auto storage Mgnt with fast access - Product Announcement

Network Appliance, Inc., (Nasdaq:NTAP), a provider of enterprise network storage solutions, recently announced support for the NetApp NearStore R100 for use as a disk storage pool with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager.
The NetApp NearStore R100, an integrated disk-to-disk backup solution, allows customers to access and manage their data within multiplatform environments more economically than with traditional disk-based backup solutions.
Together Tivoli Storage Manager and NetApp's NearStore solution enable customers to manage and protect the growth of their storage across multiple platforms while freeing online disk space for active mission-critical data. NearStore is designed to augment an existing storage infrastructure, enabling organizations to simplify backup, provide accelerated recovery, and economically store reference and archival data, while Tivoli Storage Manager protects data by intelligently managing storage resources for backup and recovery, archival and retrieval.
