PAR Technology subsidiary awarded additional contract by U.S Navy; Navy exercises option for expanded I/T services in Guam - Rome Research Corp
EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, Sept 29, 2003
PAR Technology Corporation (NYSE:PTC) announced recently that the U. S. Navy Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) San Diego, as expected, has exercised a contract option with its government technical services subsidiary, Rome Research Corporation (RRC), to provide I/T services supporting the Navy's Fleet Center and Defense Message Center located in Dededo, Guam. As a result of this option exercise, RRC has increased its Guam workforce by over 40%.
"The I/T services to be performed in Guam are similar to the type of work RRC is performing under our recently announced Guantanamo Bay contract with the Navy, except on a much larger scale. We are pleased the Navy has shown its confidence in our ability to perform this requirement by exercising the option for message system support in Guam," commented Al Lane, President of RRC. "This award and our other recently announced information technology contracts demonstrates that Rome Research is quickly achieving status as a preferred contractor for DoD communications support services."
