Knowledge Products debuts OnDemand Personal Navigator 8.0
EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, Oct 6, 2003
Knowledge Products recently released version 8.0 of its OnDemand Personal Navigator. The new version delivers dramatic usability improvements as well as new tools for usage tracking and role-based filtering of learning materials that help enterprises more effectively develop, deploy and update critical documentation, training and performance support information for all employees. OnDemand 8.0 provides a synchronized content development platform for business process documentation, user training simulations and material, and in-application performance support throughout the life cycle of an enterprise software application project.
The newest release of OnDemand Personal Navigator extends an organization's ability to accurately document all business processes within an enterprise software implementation and develop other supporting materials--all in a single authoring session--to help ensure consistency and uniformly high quality across all project phases and teams.
"Using OnDemand Personal Navigator to provide on-the-job instruction for employees on our new PeopleSoft 8.3 enterprise resource planning system, rather than flying them to a training center, has allowed us to save more than $50,000 annually in travel costs alone," said Tony Mastellino, director of PeopleSoft systems for Giant Eagle Inc., a chain of more than 200 grocery stores with more than 35,000 employees in four eastern states. "The added usability enhancements coming in OnDemand 8.0 should help our employees learn new skills even faster and apply that knowledge more effectively."
The latest version of OnDemand Personal Navigator provides updated support for SAP 4.7, PeopleTools 8.42 and Siebel 7.5 enterprise software. OnDemand 8.0 provides employees with guided access to role-specific training exercises without ever having to leave the enterprise software application that they're using. Training is delivered consistently to every employee and mirrors the company's business processes to ensure users learn exactly what they need to know at precisely the right time.
"Through its ability to synchronize content development activities across all stages of the enterprise application life cycle, OnDemand Personal Navigator 8.0 allows enterprises to deploy consistent learning materials that more effectively support their business processes," said Dale Cline, president of Knowledge Products. "We've applied a wide array of customer feedback toward enhancing this latest OnDemand release with features that will enable end users to learn more flexibly and work more productively."
