Smc Acquires Wideband License - Company Business and Marketing

SMC Networks, a provider of networking products, recently entered into a licensing agreement with WideBand Corporation to manufacture and market WideBand and eEthernet (pronounced "Enhanced Ethernet") networking products.

SMC is the first networking company to acquire rights to these networking technologies and plans to have product announcements at COMDEX next month.

WideBand Corporation is the developer of high-speed networking products for the educational community. WideBand answers the special needs of education for networks that can transfer large amounts of high-quality video and audio data, that are easy to administer, and that are affordable.

The WideBand Networking open standard is supported by the 90-member WideBand Gigabit Networking Alliance (WGNA), which ensures interoperability within the standard and compatibility with existing legacy equipment and infrastructures.
