Xerox And Prism Software: Strategic Marketing Agreement
EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, Oct 15, 2001
Xerox Corp. (NYSE:XRX) and Prism Software Corp.(OTCBB:PSOF) have entered into a strategic agreement whereby Xerox will market and support the complete line of Prism's data transformation, robust forms management and online document repository software solutions.
Prism Software develops and supports production print servers and document output management software solutions used across a range of Xerox digital products, including network printing systems, laser printers, production printers and multifunction systems.
Xerox customers will be able to customize their data regardless of the source, including CRM, SCM, legacy or ERP, and use the Web to access, store and track documents with Prism's output management solutions. This agreement further extends Xerox's content management solutions among enterprise customers in the banking, insurance, government and health-care industries.
"The combination of Prism's leading-edge, total output management solutions with high-performance Xerox printers, customers can transform, print, deliver, manage and access their documents wherever and whenever they need them.
"This will provide greater efficiency, flexibility and productivity than ever before," said Harvey L. Huddleston, vice president and general manager, alliance and partner management, Xerox Global Solutions Group. "Add to that our trademark service and support, and you have a group of products that are the best in industry."
The key products in Prism's suite are PrintConsole Pro, Valeo Forms and Valeo Repository. PrintConsole Pro is a Windows NT/2000-based print manager that offers connectivity for a wide variety of host computer systems and conversions between popular print data streams such as Metacode, PCL, PDF, and Postscript.
Combining a series of modules that deliver robust document creation, routing and management capabilities, Valeo Forms complements ERP and e-commerce systems, providing central output management and control for today's business needs to deliver mission-critical information.
Valeo Repository provides users with access to business documents and reports across the Internet, ensuring that an enterprise's employees, suppliers and customers receive and access the information they need wherever and whenever they need them to maintain a competitive edge.
"Prism is very pleased to have Xerox as a strategic marketing partner. This will enable Xerox customers to strategically manage their documents and achieve competitive advantage at an excellent return on their investments," said Barry R. Lathan, president and COO of Prism Software.
As part of this marketing agreement, Xerox will offer technical support to all Prism products marketed by Xerox and they will also be covered by the Xerox Total Satisfaction Guarantee.
