EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, Nov 1, 1999
Online auction site uBid.com was ranked in the top 15 shopping websites with an estimated reach of 3.3 percent in September, according to data from Media Metrix. The fast-growing Elk Grove Village, Ill., firm is also ranked in the November issue of Worth Magazine in the top 10 of the 50 fastest growing Internet companies.
Worth's rankings focus on Internet companies with minimum annual revenue of $20 million and are equally weighted by revenue growth in dollar and percentage terms. For the 12 months ended June 30, uBid.com reported revenues of $119 million and was listed as the 9th fastest growing Internet company on Worth Magazine's list. uBid CEO Greg Jones says that to date, his firm has experienced "substantial revenue growth and been able to achieve a relatively high reach while advertising only through online media. We expect to continue to grow revenues and build on our user base by launching an offline brand advertising campaign later during the fourth quarter."
