U.S. Navy buys Leading Edge Design & Systems visual content management system: Naval Media Center in Washington, DC will utilize advanced media asset management technology to manage video and audio archives

The Naval Media Center in Washington, DC selected Leading Edge Design & Systems (Leading Edge) and DSMCi to provide a media asset management system to manage a large and growing digital archive of Navy and Marine Corps video and audio content. Leading Edge, a highly specialized defense contractor, will deploy this system at the Naval Media Center's Washington, DC facility. The Navy selected this system for its technical excellence, ability to provide enhanced features over the current system, and its overall value.

The Naval Media Center is moving into the future of the military's information management vision with this system. It will create an information architecture for saving its critical digital history and for making the most use of it. The system is web-based and, therefore, provides access to authorized users to collaborate and re-purpose content. Navy detachments all around the world will be able to search and contribute content, which will cut costs and increase efficiency.

This system gives customers a means of saving, sharing, and re-purposing their multimedia content with a very user-friendly interface and in an affordable package.
