Timothy Fleming was named Chief Technology Officer at HomeGain.com, a home seller Web site created to match consumers with real estate agents. Fleming comes to HomeGain.com from E-TRADE, where he was vice president of Product Development, and PlanetRx.com, where he was CTO and vice president of Engineering.

Kanisa Inc., a Cupertino, Calif., e-service solution provider, appointed Dominique Trempont Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Kanisa, Trempont was chief executive officer and president of Gemplus Corp.

MyPoints.com, a San Francisco-based provider of Internet direct marketing, loyalty and incentive products, named Eugene Pierce Senior Vice President of Technology and Development. Pierce joins MyPoints.com from his position as chief technology officer of LEXIS- NEXIS Group.

Inso Corp. division Information Exchange, a provider of solutions for accessing and exchanging business information, appointed Steve Mullen Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Mullen was formerly director of OEM Sales for Art Technology Group.

San Francisco-based ZDNet promoted Michael Della Penna to Vice President of Marketing. During his two years as director of marketing for ZDNet, Della Penna assembled the company's marketing team from the ground up. Prior to joining ZDNet in early 1998, he worked for CMP Media's Windows Magazine. ZDNet operates a leading Web destination for people who want to buy, use and learn about technology.

Taqua Systems Inc., an emerging provider of "next-generation" switching platforms, named Brian White Senior Vice President of Sales. White was formerly vice president of Carrier Sales at Nortel Networks Inc.

Visio Corp. of Seattle, Wash., promoted Jeff Erwin to the newly created position of Vice President, Advanced Product Development. Erwin came to Visio in 1998 when the company acquired Beaverton, Ore.-based Kaspia Systems Inc. Visio is a supplier of enterprise wide business diagramming and technical drawing software.
