Raytheon Taps CSC For IT Outsourcing; 300 Workers To Be Offered Jobs At CSC - Company Business and Marketing
EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, Dec 13, 1999
IT services provider Computer Sciences Corp. has just landed a multi- year information technology outsourcing contract from Raytheon Co., the nation's third-largest defense contractor. CSC values the deal at $65 million a year for an undisclosed term. The pact calls for CSC to manage a "significant portion" of Raytheon's IT infrastructure, including mainframes and data centers in Texas, Pennsylvania, Kansas and Massachusetts; help-desk support serving 90,000 users; and network operations that include voicemail and telecom.
CSC will take over the operations in the first quarter of 2000, when up to 300 Raytheon employees will be offered jobs by CSC. The contract "solidifies our position as the IT partner of choice with the international aerospace community," says Van Honeycutt, CSC chairman. "Our goal is to make Raytheon's IT operation a showcase for how a standardized, streamlined technology infrastructure can drive significant business value."
