Feith Document Database receives DoD 5015.2-STD cert

EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, Dec 9, 2002

Feith Document Database version 7 has been certified compliant with the DoD 5015.2-STD, the U.S. Department of Defense standard for electronic records management systems.

This enables government agencies and organizations to comply with regulatory and legislative requirements for records management using Feith Document Database.

The Feith Records Management solution allows agencies and organizations to effectively preserve (retention) valuable data (electronic and non-electronic) and ensure the destruction (disposition) of irrelevant or obsolete records. It also minimizes exposure to risk associated with regulatory and litigation issues, and enhances corporate accountability.

Meeting stringent regulatory standards, tracking documents through their lifecycles, and creating audit trails is becoming an increasingly complex activity that requires the integration of workflow, e-mail, documents, and images into a records management strategy.

Feith's powerful workflow engine enables records managers to maintain control of a record's lifecycle. Decisions can be made to delete, transfer, or retain the record permanently. And Feith's audit trail functionality keeps track of the record throughout the entire process.

"We're very excited to be able to offer our customers a records management solution that meets the DoD 5015.2 standard," said Don Feith, president. "What's special about our solution is that it's completely integrated with our document management and workflow solutions allowing organizations to use a single application to manage all their enterprise data--paper, e-mail, and electronic."

Feith Document Database seamlessly integrates with legacy applications, such as SAP, Oracle Financials, and J.D. Edwards. Using FDD, organizations can now apply Records Management Standards to these applications.

The revised version of DoD 5015.2-STD, June 2002, defines the basic requirements based on operational, legislative, and legal needs that must be met by records management application (RMA) products acquired by the Department of Defense (DoD) and its Components. It also defines requirements for RMA's managing classified records.

Feith Systems is based in the Philadelphia suburb of Fort Washington, PA, USA. Founded in 1979, Feith has been providing content management solutions since 1987. Feith Document Database is designed as an out-of-the box solution that includes Document Management, Records Management, Imaging, and Workflow functionality.
