Beating Out The Bigwigs, Ins Named Top High Tech Consultancy

EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, Feb 15, 1999

International Network Services, a Sunnyvale, Calif., provider of network consulting and software solutions, has been named the top consulting company in the high technology industry by market research firm Yankee Group and Upside Magazine.

The ranking was based on five specific criteria: market share leadership, innovation, overseas strength, strategic alliances and management. In total, Yankee Group and Upside ranked 140 companies in 12 categories. Companies were ranked on a scale of 1 to 5. INS achieved a 4.4 rating, placing the company ahead of such familiar names as Andersen Consulting, Comdisco, KPMG Peat Marwick LLP, Bell Atlantic Network Integration, and Computer Sciences Corp.

"This systems-integration services company has become the one that the smaller integrators want to emulate," says Yankee Group. "Its strategy of outsourcing technology-intensive processes has played well with partners, and the company now boasts alliances with such heavy hitters as Cisco Systems Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Microsoft Corp., among others."
