SAIC selects MRO Software's strategic asset management solutions for managed services program

EDP Weekly's IT Monitor, Feb 23, 2004

MRO Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:MROI), a provider of strategic asset management solutions, has announced that its MAXIMO and MAXIMO Main Control solutions have been selected by Science Applications International (SAIC) to be included as part of its Integrated Services Management Center (ISMC) offerings.

Building on an existing agreement formalized by the firms in July of 2002, MRO Software and SAIC signed a managed services software license agreement which adds MRO Software's strategic asset management solutions, MAXIMO and MAXIMO MainControl, to SAIC's managed services portfolio. SAIC will combine the asset management solutions with a range of other services and enterprise applications to offer comprehensive, single-source solutions to its customers on a global basis and in a range of industries. SAIC's investments in technology and service delivery combined with its deep understanding of physical assets have delivered proven solutions to the public sector, energy, telecommunications, health care and transportation industries.

MAXIMO, a J2EE component-based software solution provides asset management, work management, materials management and purchasing capabilities to help companies maximize productivity and extend the life of their most-critical, revenue-generating assets. MAXIMO users can increase asset utilization and reduce costs from their maintenance process. Users are able to reduce inventory investments while ensuring parts availability and streamline the sourcing and contract management process. In addition, MAXIMO Main Control provides customers with the physical, contractual and financial information required to track and manage IT assets efficiently through their entire lifecycle, reducing the cost of provisioning and maintaining IT assets, mitigating the risk of compliance with contracts, and facilitating more effective IT planning.

"Our agreement with MRO Software enables us to expand the range of managed services that we can provide our customers," Says Cheryl Louie, SAIC senior vice president. "Including MAXIMO in our managed services offerings can provide our customers with additional value and enable them to focus on their business, while we deliver systems that help them manage the assets that run their business."

"The two companies have a proven history of delivering solutions to a variety of joint customers including leading international energy companies," said Patricia C. Foye, executive vice president, marketing and global alliances at MRO Software. "This expanded relationship extends the opportunity to deliver a wider range of asset management solutions to our customers."
