Carving your own place in history - computer-generated sculpture figures from iVersion - Brief Article

Golf Digest, Nov, 2000

Golfers no longer have to pull off Tiger-like heroics or put together a Hall of Fame career to have a statue raised in their honor. Artists at iVersion, an art manufacturer in Anaheim, Calif., use digitized photos to create a computer-generated "action sculpture" of anyone.

The statues, which range from eight to 12 inches tall, are carved from granulated white softstone. They can be polished with bronze, gold or silver finishes, and run $400 to $800. (The likeness of Tiger shown below was made from several slides and took about three weeks from order to delivery.)

Although a statue of your favorite golfer may be a pricier gift than a cup of tees, iVersion claims it's only one-tenth the cost of a traditionally crafted sculpture. Visit www. mysculpture.com or phone 888-558-2777 for more information.
