Duval's driver dilemma

Golf Digest, August, 2003 by Johnny Miller, Guy Yocom

It has been painful to watch David Duval plummet from the best player in the world to a guy who struggles to make a cut. What has caused his demise? As is the case with most slumps, I believe it started with the driver. Duval has always had plenty of length, but one day he began spraying his tee shots. That put pressure on the rest of his game, and it wasn't long before everything else deteriorated. If Duval can straighten out that driver--he's hitting just 46.3 percent of the fairways --it won't be long before confidence seeps into the rest of his game and we see him regain his form.
