NAME: Brad Nye. JOB: Assistant pro, McHenry (Ill.) Country Club. AGE: 39. HOME: Palatine, Ill. WHAT HE DOES: Nye works in the golf shop, gives lessons and plays with members. He moonlights as the singer for Chicago rock band Dick Holliday and the Bamboo Gang. HOW HE GOT THERE: Nye used to play 200 shows a year touring with Dick Holliday, which formed in 1985. After the group quit the road in 1995, Nye began caddying at a suburban Chicago club and honing his game. In 1998, he passed the PGA's playing ability test and entered its training program. SALARY: He makes $25,000 as a pro and slightly more as a singer. THE BEST PART: "Being a golf pro/musician is a dream life. I'm so happy in both, and I still have time for family [wife Juli and sons Russell, 7, and Aaron, 4]."
