Topic: RSS FeedTake a lesson : Jump-start your game and win a free trip to PGA Golf Club
Golf Digest, May, 2001
For the fourth consecutive year, Golf Digest and the PGA of America are offering free lessons during May through the Play Golf America program.
While in the past the program focused on one area of your game, we leave the subject of your free lesson up to you: sand play, driving distance, putting--you name it.
To sign up for your Play Golf America free lesson, check the list on the following pages for a facility near you and call for an appointment. Facilities marked with an asterisk are private, and the free lesson is open only to members. Any other facility, even private clubs not marked by an asterisk, are open to you. Golf professionals whose names appear in bold are among Golf Digest's 50 Greatest Teachers. Those appearing in italics indicate a PGA teacher with national or 2000 section-of-the-year honors. Those professionals listed in bold italics were honored by both Golf Digest and the PGA of America.
To enter the drawing for a four-day golf trip for two to the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., fill out the lesson coupon in this issue's cover story. After your lesson, ask your PGA professional to sign the coupon. Then mail it in and you'll be eligible for the trip. You'll also be eligible to win Golf Digest's Places to Play guide, published by Fodor's.
PGA professionals may sign up through May 1 by phoning 800-4PGA-PRO. Pros are required to teach a minimum of 24 10-minute lessons on a first-come, first-served basis. The free-lesson program is open to Canadian readers but does not involve the Canadian PGA. A few professionals have opted not to have their names listed here or they signed up after our print deadline. For a complete list of professionals, please visit www.golfdigest.com or www.pga.com.
