Finally, a lubricant with golf applications

Golf Digest,  May, 2008  by Ron Kaspriske

Shoe and cleat manufacturers make it sound so easy to replace plastic cleats after they've been worn to the nub. But often the cleat's metal threads have rusted, and a demolition team, let alone a spike wrench, couldn't extract it from the shoe.

That's why we love Jig-A-Loo, a spray-on lubricant ($7 for a three-ounce can; available at Wal-Mart, home depot and true Value, among others). Just spray it on the cleat's threads, and it will unscrew easily when you need to replace it.

Because Jig-A-Loo is water-repellent, you can spray it on your shoes to keep mud and grass off of them on wet days. And it won't stain because it contains no oil, grease, wax or detergent.

It's also a terrific rust-preventative when you store your clubs.
