Land of the 11:43 p.m. sun : How about 72 holes in one day?

Golf Digest, June, 2001 by Ron Kaspriske

Since June 21 is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, why not take advantage of all that sunlight and try to play as many holes as you can?

Most northern states have between 15 and 17 hours of daylight on that Thursday. But if you really want to play golf until you drop, the new Creek Course at Moose Run in Fort Richardson, Alaska, is the ideal location.

For starters, there are approximately 20 hours of light that day (sunrise 4:19 a.m., sunset 11:43 p.m.). Then there is Moose Run's replay policy.

The green fee is $35 (plus $20 for a cart), but general manager Gary Sanford says "We usually let players go around again for free." The Creek Course, designed by Robin Nelson, is the longest in Alaska at 7,324 yards (par 72) and is sister to the original Moose Run course.
