Three keys to breaking 100 … degrees

Golf Digest, June, 2004

Research suggests that the foot is most comfortable at a temperature between 82 and 93 degrees. Here's the problem: While walking 18 holes the foot temperature inside your shoes can reach more than 100 degrees. What can you do? First, find a pair of socks with a synthetic-fiber component to wick moisture, like the ProDry from FOOTJOY (www.footjoy.com).

Second, instead of using thick, cushioned socks, try a breathable insert to soften the blow and improve airflow like the SOLE footbed insole (www.itsyoursole.com). Third, consider shoes designed for better airflow and temperature control like the ADIDAS ClimaCool, the GelFusion from FOOTJOY and the Dri-Fit Tour from NIKE.
