ABT, a provider of integrated administrative and student-information solutions for educational institutions, has introduced its PowerCAMPUS[R] mobile computing solutions. PowerCAMPUS[R] is a suite of applications designed for client/server. The suite includes admissions, student records, academic plan, billing, cash receipts, advancement and system administrator. It is designed to increase productivity, speed, and flexibility thereby providing users with powerful tools to better manage their information needs.
ABT's PowerCAMPUS[R] Database System helps institutions manage their constituent populations including inquiry, applicant, student, faculty, prospects, organizations, and alumni. It offers an integrated design sharing one structure across all applications.
The platform for the new ABT application software is the Microsoft Windows CE Release 3 operating system and the PocketPC hand-held computers that use it. With ABT PocketCAMPUS and MS Office for Windows CE, admissions recruiters, students, faculty, and administrators moving between buildings or between campuses can "load and go" with the data and information they need for the day, and "synch up" anytime, anywhere, via wireless or line connection to the Internet and campus networks.
Among others, ABT PocketCampus applications will include the following:
PocketRecruiter, designed to help admissions counselors achieve their student recruiting objectives. It enables admissions professionals to "pack and go" to college fairs and feeder schools with the latest information in the administrative system database on prospects and clients.
PocketStudent enables students to communicate with classmates, advisers, and family, keep track of their academic and extracurricular activities, and work on their assignments anywhere.
PocketExec helps institution executives monitor operations, make better decisions, communicate, and plan. PocketExec leverages the data integration capabilities of MS 2000 and Digital Dashboard technologies, presenting snapshots of information related to the institution's key performance indicators in graphic and tabular forms.
