Art Business News, Oct, 2000
CHICAGO--Chase Group artist Mackenzie Thorpe has published his first art book titled From the Heart. According to the book's publisher, Universe Publishing, Thorpe's subtle yet simplistic images interpret the lessons he has learned throughout his life, and the artist's most distinctive images have been brought together in the book. Featuring 100 full color illustrations coupled with autobiographical text, the art book examines Thorpe's evolution as an artist and a person.
The road to success has been long and hard for the artist. But today, Thorpe has been praised by art critics worldwide, and his work has been shown across Europe, North America and the Far East in sold-out exhibitions. His work is collected by celebrities like Andrew Lloyd Webber and former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman, and he's been commissioned by the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Princess Anne's Save the Children Fund.
In addition to detailing Thorpe's personal struggles and his success, From the Heart provides visual documentation of his artistic development. According to the publisher, the book reveals Thorpe's unique ability to deliver a universal message about love, family and the beauty of innocence in a way that is accessible to all who view his artwork.
