World Wide Arts Resources unveils web marketing tool for galleries

Art Business News, Oct, 2003

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- World Wide Arts Resources recently launched a new service for gallery owners and dealers wanting to market art and artists on its sites absolutearts.com and wwar.com. The company's Gallery Portfolio is a tool that can serve as an inventory management aid, a gallery's primary Web site or a secondary site.

Based on absolutearts.com's original portfolio services, which are currently used by more than 13,000 artists, the self-administered tool allows gallery owners to build a logo-branded Web site with an unrestricted number of pages for artists and exhibitions. Gallerists can feature up to three artists and an exhibition on the main page, as well as an exhibition archive, gallery statement, press releases and reviews.

Other features include the ability to upload an unlimited number of artworks on artists' pages, create integrated exhibition pages for each exhibition and analyze Web traffic statistics.

Potential art buyers visiting absolutearts.com can search for art by artist, theme, genre, medium, price and location. Gallery Portfolio artists and information receive top ranking in these areas. Galleries and artists are also featured throughout the sites as integrated content. A showcase in the absolutearts.com newsletter designed for Gallery Portfolio members is circulated via e-mail to the site's 40,000 subscribers three times each week.

A Gallery Portfolio membership costs $540 per year and $270 for six months. A free version is also available with limited tools, imagery and traffic. Galleries also can test the service for free and upgrade later.
