Lighting Resource Center Located at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., the LRC provides an A-to-Z resource on lighting. Its Web site (www.lrc.rpi.edu) leans toward the technical, but it includes information on light bulb types, a glossary, links to other resources and lighting case studies, including those set in a retail environment.

The International Association of Lighting Designers The IALD offers advice on finding and hiring the right lighting designer for your needs at www.iald.org.
