HARTSDALE, N.Y. -- Gary Levine has stepped out on his own to form a new art publishing and licensing business. Roaring Brook Art Company Inc. focuses on art for department stores and the home-furnishing and gift businesses.
Levine has spent the past 11 years selling art domestically and internationally. He began his career as a sales and marketing manager for Bon Art/Art Resources, where he sold prints and posters to whole sale framers and distributors in the United States and overseas. His most recent position was as vice president of sales for Patton Picture Company.
Levine said Roaring Brook, which has already signed five artists, will focus on art for major retail venues. "There is still a tremendous growth opportunity for art and licensing in ... department stores, specialty and off-price retail chains," he said. "Many [of these stores] are expanding their formats [and] growing their store counts nationally and internationally.
