Art Business News, Jan, 2002
FALLBROOK, Calif.--Adtech Publishing Group, a division of Adtech Communications Inc., has signed an exclusive long-term contract with contemporary artist Waltraud von Schwarzbek. Nine of Schwarzbek's images will be exclusively published as limited editions by the company and will retail from $395. Her first limited-edition giclee prints include "Flower Arch," "Lugano Primavera" and "Portofino."
A native of Bavaria, Schwarzbek was born into a family of artists and absorbed the dramatic scenery of her surroundings. A great variety of subjects have been captured in her paintings during the course of her career. Her years as an illustrator for Columbia Pictures, United Artists and Warner Brothers applied her skills to a wide range of images. Her series of oil paintings of endangered species helped support the Wild Life Fund through the donation of their copyrights. Subjects of her portraiture have included opera stars Placido Domingo as well as presidents Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy and Jimmy Carter.
"We are positively thrilled to have von Schwarzbek join us," said Steve D'Angelo, president and c.e.o. "We believe this seasoned artist has a wonderful future, and we're excited about the schedule of future editions."
