Internationally renowned pop artist Charles Fazzino has spent the last 20 years creating his own special brand of three-dimensional artwork. His limited-edition, 3-D serigraphs are exhibited in more than 600 fine art galleries worldwide. After going through a hand-printed silkscreen process, each individual piece of art is meticulously cut, glued, glittered and assembled, all by hand.
Best known for his whimsical and exuberant renditions of New York City, Fazzino has also immortalized such diverse locales as San Francisco, Jerusalem, Venice, Paris and Chicago. His recent accomplishments include artwork for the 2000 and 2002 Olympic Games, Superbowls XXXV and XXXVI, the NBC Today Show Summer Concert Series and New York's Times Square New Year's Eve Celebration. He was also recently asked to create the official artwork for the US Navy's commissioning ceremony for the USS Bulkeley.
In each of these pieces, Fazzino has displayed his greatest talent; the ability to capture the entire essence of a person, place or event in one dynamic, exciting and vibrant image. He has paid tribute to such diverse subjects as The New York Yankees, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. In doing so, he has established himself as one of the most popular and exciting artists of his generation.
The Fazzino collection on display at the 2002 Artexpo New York will include not only the latest limited editions, but it will feature the worldwide debut of the artist's new line of three-dimensional original paintings on canvas.
