ALEXANDRIA, Va.--The Color Marketing Group (www.colormarketing.org), an international, not-for-profit association of color designers who identify and forecast color as much as, three years in advance, has announced its Spring and Fall International Conference dates and locations for 2001. The dates include:
Spring 2001 April 1 to 3, Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, Fla.
Fall 2001 October 7 to 9, Dallas Hyatt, Dallas
More than 650 color designers from around the world will meet at each of these conferences (held exclusively for CMG members) to collectively forecast colors for manufactured products and services. In Spring 2001, CMG members will be forecasting for consumer markets in the year 2003. In Fall 2001, colors for contract/commercial markets in 2004 will be forecasted.
In other news, CMG has announced the results of the election of officers for calendar year 2001:
Dina Puglisi, CMG, Catalyst, New York, has been elected executive vice president. Leslie Harrington, ASID, CMG, Benjamin Moore & Co., Montvale, N.J., was re-elected as vice president, strategic planning. Allen Ferrell, CMG, North Pole USA, Denver, has been elected secretary. Hall Dillon, CMG, will begin a two-year term in 2001 as immediate past president. Jay de Sibour, CMG, Pantone, Inc., Carlstadt, N.J., began to serve his two-year term as president in January, and Colette Nicoletta, CMG, Streetcase, Inc., Caledonia, Mi., will continue as treasurer through the end of 2001.
These officers, chosen by their peers for outstanding achievements in their fields, are all long-term members of CMG. They have been elected based upon their demonstration of knowledge that is essential to the practice of Color Design and their exemplary individual professional performance, according to organization officials.
Color Marketing Group (CMG), founded in 1962 and based in Alexandria, Va., includes 1,600 color designers.
CMG members forecast color directions one to three years in advance for all industries, manufactured products and services. These Consumer/Residential and Contract/Commercial products include: Exterior Home, Durable Interior, Transportation, Communications/Graphics, Fashion, Action/Recreation, Home, Fashion, Home Office, and environments for Office, Health Care, Retail and Hospitality/ Entertainment.
