PHOENIX, Ariz. -- A major exhibit of 28 life-sized sculptures by Gary Lee Price featuring children are on display at the Desert Botanical Garden through Feb. 5, coinciding with the garden's annual "Art in Bloom" event.
Price, 47, has been a successful, self-employed artist for 22. His works can be found in public and private collections in England, Hong Kong and throughout the United States. Price's pieces are also on display and for sale in 16 major galleries across the United States. He is a member of the National Sculpture Society and has taught classes at the Loveland Sculpture Academy and the Scottsdale Artist School. Awards include the Utah Governor's Mansion Artist Award, Eliza R. Snow Alumni Award for the Arts from Ricks College and Springville, Utah, Citizen of the Year.
In other news, Price established the Incredible Journey Arts Foundation and is renovating a 20,000-square-foot mercantile building in his hometown of Springville, Utah, where he and other artists can teach workshops and sell children's art and visitors can dine and enjoy the adjacent sculpture garden.
