Wild Wings to distribute Terry Redlin art

Art Business News, April, 2004

LAKE CITY, Minn. -- Wild Wings, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cabela's, is now the official distributor of the art of Terry Redlin, who is known for his nostalgic scenes of rural America and wildlife.

"We are extremely pleased to be named the exclusive distributor for Terry Redlin art. He is a master artist with an amazing ability to capture nostalgic Americana scenes," said Randy Eggenberger, president of Wild Wings. "Like Terry, Wild Wings' longtime focus has been on wildlife and nature-themed art, including Americana, and we share a number of common interests, Including a fervent commitment to wildlife conservation and preservation."

Terry Redlin, of Watertown, S.D., began his solo career with the release of "Winter Snows" in 1977. Among his best-known works are his series of "America the Beautiful" paintings depicting lyrics from the hymn and chronologically charting the development of the country from Western expansion to the present day. He continues to work seven days a week and releases four or five limited editions annually.

The majority of his original oil paintings, which total more than 140, are on display at the $17-million Redlin Art Center in Watertown. Conceived and designed by his son, Charles, Redlin built the museum and donated it to his home state. The museum has welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors since it opened in 1997.
