MISSION VIEJO, Calif. -- Artist Csaba Markus, who self-publishes his work under the name of Csaba Markus Atelier, has expanded into the book publishing business with his new company, Dreaming Muse.
Dreaming Muse will focus on producing art catalogs, books and calendars, starting with Markus' own fine-art catalog, which is now available. Csaba Markus Atelier will still concentrate solely on the creation of fine-art prints, such as etchings, stone lithographs and serigraphs, according to Markus.
"Csaba Markus Atelier certainly still exists--t is just a separate entity from Dreaming Muse," Markus said. "I created Dreaming Muse because I really wanted to put a big emphasis into creating the highest quality publications of art books, catalogs and more."

The idea came about when Markus decided that he would create and design his own catalogs and books. He had purchased a high-end camera to photograph, reproduce and archive his work.
"I wanted to create the highest quality digital studio for reproducing my art," he said. "And with this setup, I was really able to capture the colors and depth of paintings and the richness of the art. The step to book publishing was a natural one. There have been so many improvements in digital technology, and we wanted to make a bold move to utilize that. We will be even busier than ever, but our new goal is to provide the best quality of book publishing available. I want to use the book publishing to share visual dreams."
