* On Feb. 5, Sotheby's racked up $27 million in sales and achieved several auction records during a sale of contemporary art in London. Highlights included the sale of a R.B. Kitaj piece titled "Value, price and profit, "which went for a record $462,000. Grayson Perry's "I want to be an artist," a pot with portraits of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, went for $66,000.

A sale of post-war and contemporary art by Christie's, held on Feb.4., fetched a sale total of $14.7 million.
