Chicago™ Contemporary & Classic

Art Business News, April, 2005

The first annual Chicago Contemporary & Classic (CC&C) offers a fresh approach to the international art fair. With approximately 140 galleries featuring modern and contemporary art and nearly 60 dealers of European and American furniture and decorative arts, collectors will discover an unparalleled selection across a wide range of periods and styles.

To be held April 29-May 2, 2005 in Navy Pier's Festival Hall, Chicago Contemporary & Classic offers a sophisticated, yet casual setting, where the anticipated 25,000 collectors, museum curators and arts aficionados can comfortably study and appreciate a broad spectrum of exhibits. While the modern and contemporary galleries will dominate the show floor, the other exhibitors will be separated by period and subject, allowing visitors to easily comprehend the historic scope of the show.

Whether a collector is seeking emerging art, 20th-century masters, cutting-edge photography, modern furniture, African and oceanic art or antique silver, CC&C offers a unique environment attractive to passionate buyers from around the world.

An educational component to the fair features experts in a variety of fields hosting panel discussions open to the public. A lively series of lectures is designed to enhance the overall appreciation of the works on view, and will surely lead to more informed collecting practices.

Working in tandem with the cultural community in Chicago to ensure an expansive range of activities during the four-day event, Chicago Contemporary & Classic promises to be an exciting new experience in the world of contemporary art fairs.
