SAN FRANCISCO -- Image Conscious announces the signing of artist Cynthia Markert to an exclusive poster-publishing agreement. Markert's female figurative studies are drawn from the "new woman" of the 1890s and the Jazz Age flappers of the 1920s, a period where female identity and gender roles endured tensions and transformations. Her original works are on display at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington; Stanford University Department of Lively Arts; and the University of Tennessee Department of Theater.
