The University of Virginia Art Museum presents, "Masterpieces of European Drawing," a special collection comprised of 62 works from one of France's oldest and most esteemed museums, the Musee des Beaux-Arts et d'Archeologie, through June 5. The works range from the 16th century to the 20th century, and are displayed in a variety of mediums, including pen, pencil and watercolor, by European masters such as Mantegna, Rembrandt, Rubens, Matisse, Courbet and Signorelli. The exhibit depicts the connection between artistic mediums by revealing the expressive function of drawings.
