Emerging artists awarded travel grants

Art Business News, May, 2005

PHILADELPHIA -- The Center for Emerging Visual Artists announces its new Alumni Travel Grant program, giving alumni from the center's Career Development Program the opportunity to further their artistic and professional development. The center's board of artistic advisors select the artists each year, awarding three $5,000 grants for travel anywhere in the world. After returning from their travels, the artists will then share their experiences with the community through talks and exhibitions at the center's Felicity R. "Bebe" Benoliel Gallery.

The Center for Emerging Visual Artists remains committed to making art careers viable, helping artists to reach their audiences and to promote interest and understanding of art among citizens of the community.

The William Penn Foundation, which made possible the Alumni Travel Grant program, is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Greater Philadelphia region.
