New Era signs Maeve Harris - news - New Era Publishing - Brief Article

Art Business News, July, 2002

AUSTIN, Texas -- New Era Publishing recently signed artist Maeve Harris and will be publishing both her originals and limited-edition giclees.

Harris moved from the East coast to Phoenix in 1994 where she attended Arizona State and received her B.F.A. in photography. "I reference photographs, both found and of my own, as inspiration in my paintings. I also enjoy experimentation with material used in other media to push the limits of paint."

Influenced by natural and organic forms, Harris renders expressions of color and light with a variety of inks and pigments. She said she is interested in the integration of traditional subject matter with contemporary styles and techniques. "I feel fortunate to have been exposed to a broad spectrum of influences, and I was especially affected by works from living artists. It is amazing to witness current contributions to the cannon of art." Currently, Harris resides in Seattle.

Harris' work will be available as IXIA giclees in an edition size of 125 on 500-gram Somerset paper and on canvas within the company's Prestige Line and on 300-gram Somerset paper and canvas within the company's Advantage line. The pieces will be priced starting at $200 retail and will also be available in custom sizes. New Era also has about 50 original works available currently.
