Art Business News, July, 2004 by Susanne Casger
DEAR READERS,
When I was asked to serve as editorial director for Art Business News, I thought back to the early days of my entry into the art world when I joined Artexpo in 1991. What a wonderful journey it's been. Working with exhibitors, advertisers and attendees from all over the world, first with Artexpo New York and then from 2000 with the DECOR Expo shows, The Palm Springs International Art Fair and DECOR magazine, has shown me the importance of relationships in our industry.
Our relationships yield opportunities, which in turn help us to succeed. I fully intend to use this exciting opportunity as ABN's editorial director to strengthen our relationship, as the art marketplace's No. 1 publication, with you, our readers. We have a seasoned and multidimensional team that is looking forward to reporting on important art trends, art news and art-related issues, and their efforts are always with you in mind.
Our editor, Joe Jancsurak, has 24 years of business-press journalism experience. He has covered a range of industries, including industrial design, publishing, retail, travel and manufacturing. Joe's work as a feature writer and columnist has been recognized by the American Society of Business Press Editors and Business News Publishing Co.
The contributors in this issue are familiar faces to you. Murray Raphel, marketing columnist, Joshua Kaufman, legal affairs columnist, and Contributing Editors Julie Keller, Jenny Sherman and Laura Myers, are seasoned and knowledgeable professionals. Their industry expertise, and the expertise of ABN's many contributing editors, is vital to the continued success of ABN.
We at ABN are honored and excited to be associated with such a fine news magazine that has served its readership welt for the last 30 years. As we continue to build upon the strengths of ABN, we want to hear from you! Please contact us with any suggestions.
