Art Business News, July, 2006
VENICE, FL -- The Mill Pond Press Companies announces the creation of a new division, Independent Artist Publishing (IAP). IAP is a complete multifaceted service, designed to handle every aspect of fine art publishing for the self-published artist.
"We created Independent Artist Publishing because we recognized a genuine need" says Linda Schaner, president of The Mill Pond Press Companies, "We can help self-published artists, or artists considering self-publishing, devote more of their time to the creation of art rather than to the business of art and all that publishing entails."
Self-published artists can choose the package that best suits their individual needs from service options that include providing crates for original paintings, arranging pre-paid shipment and insurance for originals, printing giclee canvases that each come with a 50-year limited warranty against fading, obtaining copyrights, providing certificates of authenticity, curating and stretching canvases. IAP also offers promotional materials, marketing advice and a year's subscription to IAP's e-newsletter.
"The simple truth is, artists can't afford not to paint while they chase solutions to their problems," says Schaner. "Time spent not painting is detrimental to their careers. So, we are offering self-published artists an alternative that enables them to make the best use of their valuable time--creating art instead of managing the many facets of publishing."
