Art Business News, July, 2006
Robert Wheeler, a native Californian, was raised in Hollywood. Married in 1966, he joined the Los Angeles Police Department. After retiring, Wheeler found work in the film industry. His rugged looks earned him a Screen Actors card. Spending many hours on filming locations, Wheeler wrote two fiction romantic novels, which resulted in coworkers giving him the name "The Curbside Writer."
Wheeler's wife, Denise, challenged him to begin painting, so he then purchased a 49-cent paint brush. Enjoying the freedom of abstraction, his work is creating solutions for art collectors. His work is currently on exhibition at the Marriott Hotel, Woodland Hills, CA.
