Dubai holds inaugural International Design Forum

DUBAI--The inaugural International Design Forum recently took place in Dubai under the official patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, chairman of the executive council of Dubai.

The IDF examines the world of design with a particular focus on the Arab region. It represents a fresh, new initiative from the Arab world and an effort to link disciplines through the lens of creativity. Built around three main program tracks (industrial design, urban design and design connects), this invitation-only event gathered 500 senior decision-makers from all around the world to tackle the greatest design challenges of the future.

Prominent designers, artists, business leaders, architects, media leaders, government representatives and academics used their experience and networking skills to determine together the role of creativity and design in shaping the future. The IDF also held a series of exhibitions, special visits and installations.
