BURBANK, CALIF.
Roy Disney recently hosted a private screening of the Walt Disney/Salvador Dali film, "Destino," at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. The Oscar-nominated animated short film was begun in 1945, put on hold indefinitely, then completed in 2003 by Roy Disney, who culled the art and storyboards for the film from Disney archives. After the screening, Linda Jones Clough, daughter of legendary animator Chuck Jones was on hand. She is flanked (left to right) by Craig Kausen, president of Linda Jones Enterprises; Michael Young, CEO/president of Collectors Editions; Roy Disney; and Baker Bloodworth, producer of "Destino."

MILWAUKEE
John Stobart, English born artist, author and host of two 1990's "Worldscape" series for PBS, recently signed 150 prints prepared from his original "Harbor Departure" for the benefit of the Milwaukee, Wis., PBS stations at its annual on-air auction.
Shown with Stobart are Huetta Manion, director of Landmarks Gallery in Milwaukee, and Mary Manion, flaming supervisor. The prints were signed at the gallery.

National artist Robin Caspari, Manakin Sabot, Va., and gallery owner Kar Woo of J.M. Porters, Kansas City, Kan., celebrate on Mother's Day weekend at an opening exhibit, "Of Horses and Orchids," by Robin Caspari. Complimentary orchids were given to morns during the show. There was a special unveiling of two paintings commissioned by Bayer Aspirin Company, headquartered in Kansas City. A portion of the proceeds from the show benefited The Pride of Kansas City Foundation, a philanthropic organization that works to enhance the quality of life of Kansas City area residents.

TOPEKA, KAN.
Filmaker Kevin Wilmott, crop artist Stan Herd, and artist Sharon Reeber (pictured left to right) gathered with Kansas Arts Commission Executive Director Dave Wilson last week at a meeting. Among the many topics discussed were public art projects and the bi-state arts environment. Wilmott is now working with Spike Lee to expand his film "CSA," which garnered international attention at the Sundance Film Festival. Reeber's current exhibition of paintings is on view at Chiro Studio and Gallery in Kansas City, Mo., through July.
