NOVATO, Calif. -- Portal Publications Ltd., Brightcube Inc. and Getty Images have reached an agreement to distribute selected images from the Hulton Getty Archive Collection through the Brightcube (BC) Print-on-Demand Solution. Getty Images is a pioneer in the evolving digital industry, and their participation in this venture signals the arrival of a new era for the fine art and photography markets, according to company officials.
The BC Print-on-Demand Solution provides the technology and infrastructure (patent pending) to electronically deliver art-quality images to a network of galleries and retailers for on-site printing. This innovative system allows customers to print the selected images in different sizes and on different paper finishes, including canvas, for immediate delivery.
The Hulton Archive comprises more than 30 million images contained within 1,500 individual collections. Picture Post, Keystone, Fox Photos and the Daily Express collections are just a few of the major photographic works owned outright, augmented by the representation of world renowned agencies and photographers such as Ernst Haas, Weegee, George Eastman House and the New York Times, to name but a few.
