Art Business News, Sept, 2002
SPECIAL REPORT--Artist Ron Burns has recently taken on the task of painting search-and-rescue (SAR) dogs. This effort was spurred by the death of Sirius, the only canine to lose his life on Sept. 11. Sirius was a bomb-detecting dog and was the first SAR dog that Burns painted. An April 24 memorial service was held for Sirius, and Burns appeared on CNN Headline News for a live segment about the Sirius painting he created and the event.
Posters of Sirius are available at www.ronburns.com, and all proceeds go to helping SAR dog awareness. Visit the Web site for info.
