Lieberman's updates art database

Art Business News, Sept, 2003

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Lieberman's Gallery has released the third edition (version 1.3) of an industry-wide database of current print and poster listings from 85 open-edition publishers.

Offered in CD and DVD formats and exceeding 100,000 illustrations, the searchable database also offers a new screensaver display designed to attract store visitors to the search computer. The screensaver encourages customers to search the database by keyword, subject, style, color, artist, title size or price.

Publishers whose complete listings are included in the database include New York Graphic Society, Bruce McGaw Graphics, Winn Devon Fine Art and others.

Named Lieberman's Art Explorer, the product offers dozens of features, is updated twice a year, and is available to the trade for $100.

"Existing retail outlets who install Lieberman's Art Explorer will increase their chances of success at the 'matchmaking' operation that is such a key part of art and framing sales and will inevitably generate more sales for publishers in the process," said Bruce Lieberman, a partner with brothers Daniel and Paul in the 26-year-old company.

Lieberman's Art Explorer database will be released this month.
