Janimation creates videogame trailer

Post, Oct, 2004

DALLAS -- Janimation (www.janimation.com), here, recently completed work on its first cinematic trailer for Midway Home Entertainment's new videogame Area 51. The trailer, conceived by agency Fail Safe Creative, was shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and has generated a buzz for the game, to be released this month.

The piece, which is just over two minutes, begins with a high-tech look inside the Area 51 compound. A voiceover delivered by one of the doctors at the site details the work going on there. Concurrently, flashes of these experiments on both aliens and humans reveal science gone wrong and all hell breaking loose. Janimation animators used Softimage|XSI software.

Greg Punchatz directed the project for Janimation. Steve Gaconnier executive produced. Pete Herzog was visual effects producer.

John Dennis at The Sound Spot provided music and sound design. Wren Walters at Brass Knuckles Editorial cut the project.
