SNS releases Ethernet-based IP SANs

ST. LOUIS -- Storage solution provider Studio Network Solutions (www.studionetworksolutions.com)) has released globalSAN X-8 and globalSAN X-16, two fully-configured iSCSI SAN systems that support Mac and Windows environments. The globalSAN X-8 is an eight-bay, four-user package with 2TB of SATA storage. GlobalSAN X-16 is a 16-bay, six-user package with 4TB of SATA storage. Both include licenses of iSANmp volume sharing software and can be upgraded to support additional users/storage.

The 4TB globalSAN X-16 is rated to deliver 32 streams of DV or eight streams of uncompressed SD video using Final Cut Pro. The 2TB globalSAN X-8 is rated to deliver 128 tracks of 24-bit/48kHz playback per workstation using Digidesign Pro Tools.

Introductory pricing is $14,999 for global-SAN X-8 and $22,999 for globalSAN X-16.
