SAN JOSE, CA -- BlueArc Corporation (www.bluearc.com) has introduced a new scalable networked attached storage (NAS) server family, consisting of three models, designed to take advantage of gigabit network speeds. The Si8000 line brings with it one of the most dense storage footprints of any Fibre Channel NAS system.

The Si8300 supports up to 7 TB of storage capacity, while the Si8700 supports up to 98 TB of storage and delivers 25.6 TB in a single 42U enclosure. The new Si8900 is one of the first NAS systems to offer 2Gbps Fibre Channel to disk and supports up to 228 TB of storage. Pricing starts under $50,000 for entry-level models. All of the new units support the OS X, UNIX, Windows and Solaris operating environments.

BlueArc's Si8000 line is scalable, offering a minimum of 7 TB of storage.
