Macromedia Flash Communication Server MX - Special Advertising Section

Post, Nov, 2002

Since 1999, Aspect Communications, a $400 million Contact Center solutions provider, has used Internet conferencing to communicate with its customers, partners, and employees. Aspect chose iConference 2.0 from Wanadu, which is built with Macromedia Flash Communication Server MX. According to Anne Wadia, Director, Marketing Communications, since the solution uses Macromedia Flash Player to deliver the presentation experience to end users, "there are no rastered edges, no jerky movements, no huge downloads, and the system easily converts PowerPoint presentations to Macromedia Flash. And, unlike third-party services, we can run the server behind our firewall, which enhances security.

iConference even lets us control whether viewers can print or redistribute our presentations."

Moreover, Macromedia Flash Player uses a very compact file format, making Macromedia Flash solutions efficient to deploy. With its support for streaming audio and video, real-time communications, and increased programming capabilities, Macromedia Flash Player has evolved into a compelling environment for delivering rich media, interactive communications, and advanced Rich Internet Applications.

On the server, Macromedia Flash Communication Server MX has made it simple to access these benefits with drag-and-drop components for features such as streaming video, live chat, and meeting rooms. According to Bhanu Sharma, vice president of products and strategy for Wanadu, using Flash Communication Server MX with the Macromedia Flash MX authoring environment allowed Wanadu to add more features to their conferencing solution, while cutting development time by about 75 percent. "As a result," Sharma said, "our product is more stable, and we now have time to customize the application for each client, and enter new markets."

Optimized for Intel[R] Pentium[R] 4 instruction sets, Flash Communication Server MX cuts deployment costs dramatically.
